Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings drumettes and flats separated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder optional, for extra crispiness

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Large bowl
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Pat wings completely dry with paper towels to remove all moisture.
  2. Toss wings in a large bowl with oil, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and baking powder if using.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 380°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer without overlapping. Cook in batches if needed.
  5. Cook at 380°F for 12 minutes, flip wings, then increase to 400°F and cook for 10 to 12 more minutes until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F.
  6. Rest wings for 1 to 2 minutes, then toss in sauce or serve plain with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Dry wings thoroughly before seasoning for maximum crispiness.
  • Don't overcrowd the basket or wings will steam instead of crisp.
  • Flip halfway through for even browning on both sides.
