Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed salted pretzels
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar Packed
  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping Thawed
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries Hulled and diced

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and brown sugar in a bowl, then spread evenly on the baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 7 minutes until caramelized. Let it cool completely on the counter, then break it into crunchy pieces.
  4. Beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar in a large bowl with a hand mixer until smooth.
  5. Fold the thawed whipped topping and diced strawberries gently into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula.
  6. Combine the baked pretzel crunch into the creamy strawberry mixture right before serving to maintain the texture.

Notes

  • Thoroughly dry your washed strawberries before adding them so they do not water down the cream base.
  • Do not mix the crunch layer in advance, or the pretzels will become soggy.
